Today is the 1st day of the 1st ever Sew Fab e-Pattern Bundle Sale and giveaway, sponsored by The Southern Institute and Fat Quarter Shop!

Over the past eight weeks a lot of behind the scenes work has taken place to bring you this amazing bundle of ePatterns from several of the top pattern designers and bloggers in the sewing and blogging world. The result is a bundle of 18 PDF sewing patterns that you don’t want to miss.

Buy NowFor one week only, ten pattern designers have come together to bring you 18 of their best PDF patterns, valued together at over $139.00, for the incredible price of $24.95! That’s over 80% off of the combined retail value! Plus you can enter to win a dream of a giveaway valued at $390 from some really great shops!

For less than $25.00 you will have a library of resources that you can use over and over again. The designers that have joined this sale are experts in their craft. They have been sewing for a very long time and are well known in blogland and elsewhere. Each designer has contributed one or two of their favorite patterns to create a bundle that is sure to please! Whether you are sewing for your own family or making gifts for others, these are patterns that you will love to use.

If you’ve never sewn with a PDF pattern before, let me tell you how great it is! After downloading your pattern instructions and your pattern, you will print out the pattern itself, creating pattern tiles, if you will. Simply tape the tiles together to create the full pattern! At that point you can cut out the size that you need and pin the paper pattern directly to your fabric or you can trace the pattern size that you need onto sewing paper or tissue paper and cut it out, saving the paper pattern for later when you need to sew another size. Pdf patterns are so convenient because you can print them out as many times as you need!

A ‘Love’ly Coat and a Giveaway!

What a week! This week has been CRAZY emotional for me over our adopted dog, who we decided is wonderful, but too much for our family and is going to find a new home, and a sick husband. AHHHH! Anyway, on to the story at hand. Oh, and a cool giveaway!!DearMyKidsCoat-main-I'mFeelin'Crafty

This week’s challenge on Project Run and Play was to make something inspired by Valentine’s Day. Hmmmm… Of course hearts comes to mind first, but hearts aren’t always very boy-ish…. Even so, I decided it would be something with a heart, but an anatomically correct heart. And I wanted it over the kiddos heart. Then I saw an outfit in the blogosphere somewhere, in passing through websites, of a little punk rock kid in red and black plaid. That’s when I remembered my Dear My Kids coat pattern that I’ve had for 2 years and never made!

And of course, after purchasing it 2 years ago, I couldn’t find it when I needed it! So I started chatting with Karen, the owner and designer of the Dear My Kids shop, and we came up with a great idea! A Giveaway for you!! Three lucky readers gets to choose the pattern of their choice from her shop! Yea!

DearMyKidsCoat-pattern-I'mFeelin'Crafty

The pattern is great! Extremely fantastic instructions and illustrations to get you through it. A couple of times I was like, I’m going to do it my way, but then last minute decided to do it how the directions told me to. I was always (it only happened twice) glad I did it the pattern way. She knows what she’s talking about!

DearMyKidsCoat-Coat-3-I'mFeelin'Crafty

I loved the Unisex Pea Coat! I was excited to make a nice looking coat for the kiddo. Since we live in the rain, most of our coats are rain coats, not pretty coats! I think this might be the first coat I’ve made.

DearMyKidsCoat-Pocket-I'mFeelin'Crafty

I was able to use my red and black plaid as the lining and the anatomically correct heart as a pocket. And in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I added the ‘I’ and the ‘you’ to make ‘I heart you!’ You know, just in case he’s walking down the street one day and forgets that someone loves him. He can just check out his pocket and remember that Momma loves him!

Sometimes when I’m designing the kiddo’s clothes it’s easy to forget to add those nice little details that take it to the next level. But this one was different. From the pattern I was able to add some of these extras details, like for interest, I love the little strap and button on the sleeve!

DearMyKidsCoat-Eaten-I'mFeelin'Crafty

I didn’t get my project photographed and blogged about in time for the ‘competition’ side of Project Run and Play. This might sound like a dog ate my homework line, but he didn’t. (well, he did actually start… see the missing part of thepattern?) He actually ate my pin cushion! Seriously! He shredded my pincushion and spread the pins and saw dust all over the downstairs. And unfortunately, he swallowed one. He’s at the vet now recovering from stomach surgery! Poor thing. The vet looked at me and said, ‘Momma, that’s a lot of pins.’ Well, yeah, I sew… How was I to know he’d stand up on my workspace and eat a pin cushion??? Anyway….

DearMyKidsCoat-Coat-2-I'mFeelin'Crafty

That’s the bad news… The GOOD news….

It’s time for a GIVEAWAY!!  Like I said, three lucky readers will have the chance to pick their favorite pattern from the Dear My Kids etsy shop!
