Finish Along Quarter 3 2019 Goals!

I totally missed the Finish Along for Quarter 2! Which was fine, because I didn’t get much done anyway!  So here we are at Quarter 3… Um, where has this year gone???

I don’t know how much I’ll actually get done this quarter with summer vacation and way too busy at work… But I’m going to try to get some of these done! I really need ot get antoher one of my Do Good Stitches quilts. I have two left that need to go to the group. I’m thinking the lollipop one may be first!

This one has been hanging on the design wall for way to long! So I’d really like to get these blocks pieced and done!

And this one! It’s been on the list for too long!

The thing about all these WIP’s is that all the blocks are done for each one! So they shouldn’t take long, right???

I also want to finish my Halloween quilt before Halloween! I don’t have all the blocks done, but I think I have almost half of them…

That’s my list! What’s on yours? Be sure to join in!

Madrona Road Challenge- An OLD WIP, finally finished!

If you are a member of the Modern Quilt Guild, you are probably familiar with the fabric challenges they do. I used to love them! I would get so excited and sign up right away for my free fabric. The problem is there are deadlines. You are supposedly to make a quilt using their fabrics within a certain time frame… I had a problem with staying within that timeline… A bad problem..  Does anyone remember the Madrona Road Fabric Challenge???

MadronaRoadHexi-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

In 2012 (yes, 7 years ago now, see what I mean??) The Modern Quilt Guild announced their Winter Fabric Challenge. You signed up and then got the fabric around the first of Decemeber that year and were supposed to finish the quilt by January 31st. This fabric bundle was the Madrona Road line from Violet Craft for Michael Miller.

MadronaRoadHexi-ImFeelinCrafty

I had originally design this quilt to be a rainbow of hexi’s, but when I got this fabric, I decided to go with this designing using the Madrona Road to make the hexi’s. I started these hexi’s the summer of 2013. See, I was already behind. Way behind! Violet Craft had already selected her favorites!

WIP-MadronaRdFront-ImFeelinCrafty

WIP-MadronaRdBk-ImFeelinCrafty

I finished the top and back in January of 2014! And that’s when this quilt went into the pile of WIP’s. Wishing to be quilted… Yelling at me from the shelf… See, these pictures even have my old ‘logo.’

GreyQuilt

Then in 2017, this photo made it’s first appearance in the Finish A Long posts that I was participating in. (still am, though missed the last one!) And it’s been showing up every couple of months since then. Sitting basted, waiting to be quilted….

MadronaRoadHexi-Quilting-ImFeelinCrafty

And then last year it finally got quilted! What a long story for this little quilt!

MadronaRoadHexi-Corner-ImFeelinCrafty

MadronaRoadHexi-HexieDetail-ImFeelinCrafty

I just quilted it in straight line quilting with accent quilting around the box.

WIP-MadronaRd-Back-ImFeelinCrafty

Of course, the other thing with the challenges is they don’t give you much of the fabric, so you pretty much have to buy more if you want to make more than a mini. and I did. I used the yellow flower fabric on the back.

MadronaRoadHexi-Label-ImFeelinCrafty

And you know I love a label shot!

MadronaRoadHexi-Last-ImFeelinCrafty

So this quilt started back in 2013 and had a long journey of 5 years before I finally finished it last year about this is same time. And I guess you could call it 6 years, if you count the year it took to actually blog about it! I finished it and put it in my son’s school auction. His best friend’s family purchased it and it lives on their couch just a block away! We went over to take care of their cat and I saw it sitting out. I was like, that looks familiar! Ha!

And needless to say, since I can’t keep up with the deadlines of the fabric challenges, I no longer participate in them.

It does feel nice getting a WIP finished and then to know it’s being loved by someone.

Finish Along Quarter 1 2019 Goals!

For the last couple of years, I’ve participated in the Finish-A-Long hosted by 12 different quilting bloggers. There’s a different Finish-A-Long for each quarter. Typically, I have kinda used it as a tracking tool of all my unfinished WIP’s. Never expecting to finish them all that quarter, but figuring I might finish at least one or two. Like the last one I did, I posted 9 different projects! This year I’m coming at it with a different approach. A little more direct. Not just everything I want to finish, but a handful of projects I am going to make a point of actually finishing.

So here we go! I’m starting off easy here. I want to finish my 2017 SMQG BOM! All the blocks are done! I just need to sew them together and quilt it! Easy! Right?

SeaSlabBOM-May-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

And another easy one! This is the 2016 SMQG BOM. This is also totally done. I finished all the ‘blocks’ at the retreat last fall. And they are mostly already even quilted! I just need to sew on the last blocks, do a little bit more quilting and then finish it!

And lastly, this one I have to start and finish. So it’s a little more time consuming than the others. I was supposed to have been done with this about 18 months ago for someone at our kid’s school auction. Oops!

Ok! that’s it for the first quarter. I think I can… I think I can… I think I can….

Finish Along Quarter 1 2018 Goals!

Happy 2018! I’m in a hurry to get back to blogging and posting my finish along goals for this quarter!

It’s going to be similar to my last few, as I didn’t get much done. But I’ve been on a roll and I’m trying to get a bunch of WIP’s out of here!!!

There are two do Good Stitches quilts that I have to finish this quarter!

AprilDoGood-Minis-ImFeelinCrafty

And here’s a sneak peek at the next Nurture Circle do Good quilt. I have the top done for this one.

My second one for this year is the star quilt! I can’t wait to get this one put together!

This one is a new one! I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about this one. It’s our Seattle MQG BOM this year. And I’ve been keeping up with this one, so it shouldn’t be hard to get this one done! I’m finishing the last block now!!

And this is the reason I didn’t get more on my list done last quarter! I started this one! The top is done, but I’m not sure I like it anymore. I’m thinking about cutting it up and sewing it back together!

And now back to my nice long list of WIP’s that have been waiting around to get finished!

MightyLuckyJan-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

And there’s this one I’d like to finish from a year ago. It’s slated as a gift….

I’ve picked this one up again and hope to finish it ASAP for the whole gift giving thing!  This one uses the quick curve ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful

These last three I REALLY WANT TO FINISH!

I’m STILL working on the Technicolor Galaxy Quilt!

GreyQuilt

This is an old one that has been sitting on the shelf for about 3 years. Sitting there with a front and back done! This one just needs the binding finished. I did get it quilted! So close!!!

And I am still working on two Christmas quilts and my Halloween quilt from the last quarter. But even if I do finish them, I might wait to share them until closer to the holidays!

And that’s my ongoing to do list! I know it won’t all get done, but I like having all my WIP’s in one To-Do-List!

Finish Along Quarter 4 2017 Goals!

Last quarter was a bust. Nothing finished. I did finish one top that was on my list, but otherwise the list is right where I left it… But I’m going to switch up a few things!

I have two holiday quilts I am super excited about making! A Halloween quilt and a Christmas quilt!

capture

I want to start and finish my Christmas quilt! I’ve been thinking about it all year, but haven’t been able to get to it!

And I said I wasn’t going to do this, but I’m super excited about this Halloween fabric and quilt design I have up my sleeve!

Then there are two do Good Stitches quilts that I have to finish before the end of the year!

AprilDoGood-Minis-ImFeelinCrafty

And here’s a sneak peek at the next Nurture Circle do Good quilt. I have the top done for this one. I think the back might be the bottom fabric in the Halloween pile.

GreyQuilt

This is an old one that has been sitting on the shelf for about 3 years. Sitting there with a front and back done! So it just needs a little quilting love… It’s basted. It’s getting so close… Like right next to my machine!

And that’s my ongoing to do list! I know it won’t all get done, but I like having all my WIP’s in one To-Do-List!

Finish Along Quarter 4 2016!

And once again, my list is going to be very similar to past lists… Ready for this?

EmbraceChaos-Pattern-ImFeelinCrafty

OK. First up… The Chaos Quilt from Libs Elliot. The top and back are done! I just have to quilt the thing!

Technicolor02-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

I’m STILL working on the Technicolor Galaxy Quilt!

My do.Good Stitches group quilt from months ago needs to get finished ASAP! This is another one that has both the top and the back done. It’s just waiting to be quilted!

IMG_0611

I’m also inspired to finish this one using the quick curve ruler by Sew Kind of Wonderful! I have a great idea of who it is going to go to, so I’m inspired again!

ModernSampler-MainBlocksGHI-ImFeelinCrafty

And I’m so close on this one…. I’d like to get this one done, too… But there are others higher on the list!

I also need to make my Quilt Con entry for the QDAD show… I’ve got the fabric… And the design… Can I do it?

And there’s my October do.Good Stitches quilt. And since I’m so behind on the other do Good quilt, I’d like to make it up to my group and get this one done super fast!

InsideOutPineapple-Cover-ImFeelinCrafty

There’s a requested Christmas mini quilt using my Inside Out Pineapple block…..

SeaSlabBOM-May-Quilting1-ImFeelinCrafty

And I’d love to get caught up on my Seattle Modern Quilt Guild BOM quilt by the end of the year….

And the last one that I can’t find a picture for is an old one that has been sitting on the shelf for about 3 years. Sitting there with a front and back done! So it just needs a little quilting love…

Ok, this list is insane long… AGAIN…. But I want to get these DONE!!!!!!!! And some are almost done!

Technicolor Galaxy- Update!

It’s been a little while since I updated on this project! I got close to up to date, but now I’m really behind again….

TechnicolorBlocks-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

I got up to date with blocks 3, 4 and 5. I’m still in love with the project, I just need to get back on it!

TechnicolorBlocks-Blocks-ImFeelinCrafty

TechnicolorBlocks-Blocks2-ImFeelinCrafty

Each of the three blocks was really 4 blocks, so the 3 blocks is really 12 blocks in total! Block three was the Piano Keys. Super easy paper piecing. I made one extra block of this one. You can see in my planning for this block I didn’t use a solid. Once I had the two prints together, I knew it was a big fat NO!

Block 4 was the scattered geese. Another paper piecing, just a little more in depth. And I made these with a solid first, then decided I didn’t like it that way. So technically the 12 blocks were actually 16 since I made a few extras….

And lastly, Block 5 was the Arrowheads. This block incorporated the applique. I’m not a big fan of applique because I’m worried about the fabric fraying after washing. But I did it anyway! And I love how they turned out!

TechnicolorBlocks-Whole-ImFeelinCrafty

Here it is all together! You can read more about the earlier steps here and here.

TechnicolorBlocks-Last-ImFeelinCrafty

The next ring is waiting patiently for me in it’s box…. I’ve got one of the 3 sets done… I need to finish the rest of the ring to show! What am I talking about? I want to finish the whole thing before the end of the year…. We’ll see!

Finish Along Quarter 4

This finish list of goals for the 4th quarter just might look familiar… It’s pretty much the same as last quarter! Sorry to be boring! I finished my beach quilt, but that’s about it! Part of it was my machine was in the shop all summer. But I’ve got it back and it’s humming along beautifully! Yea!! So here’s my list…. (again)

FinishAlong-WIP-Dad-ImFeelinCrafty

Dad’s back is done, it’s been quilted by my friends at West Seattle Fabrics and now it just needs binding! I can do it!

FinishALong-RileyBlake-ImFeelinCrafty

There were two that I was supposed to do this sumer… First up, The Riley Blake Challenge quilt. I totally missed the deadline on this one, but I still want to finish it!

FinishALong-BabyBlanket-ImFeelinCrafty

The second one was a baby minkie rag quilt and other nursery room accessories. I did actually finish it, but haven’t gotten to show it off yet!

FinishALong-doGood-ImFeelinCrafty

I also have another do Good Stitches Quilt to put together. This one uses my Inside Out Pineapple Block!! I can’t wait to see it all put together! I had to make an extra couple of blocks and as much as I love this pattern, it’s a bit time consuming!

glitz-metallic

This is a new one to add to the list! I entered into the Michael Miller Glitz Challenge. I’ve got my fabric, but no clue what to do with it! hmmmm….

882182_AV_R

Oh, and there’s the EZ Quilting Challenge triangle quilt challenge…. Also a Quiltcon challenge like the Michael Miller one. Again, I’ve gotten the ruler, but no clue what to do with it.

Technicolor02-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

OK, I am also working on two Block of the Month quilts that I’m hoping to finish this year…. The Technicolor Galaxy Quilt and the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild Block of the Month quilts!

IMG_7592

I’d love to get these two done too! But same as last quarter, no promises on these!

OK, I think that’s enough! I need to get to work!

2015 FAL at On the Windy Side

I have so much that I’m working on…. I didn’t have half of this until I decided to make my own mini Quiltcon right here at home, with a quilt class on Thursday night, a lecture on Friday night and a workshop on Saturday!

colors

Well…. This one I’m supposed to be working on… But I’m nervous and haven’t quite started sewing anything yet….

And this one I was moving on pretyy fast until my quilting class bonanza! I’m hoping to finish it this week!

IMG_7558

This is the one I started in my class on Thursday with Katie. And I did inherit most of the finished pieces from a quilting friend! When I finish it will be similar to these quilts of Katie’s.

IMG_7592

And my improv start!

WIP-Dads2-ImFeelinCrafty

And lastly, I’ve still got to finish Dad’s quilt! I’m so close!!!

How many do you have on your list????

WIP-FP

Seattle Modern Quilt Guild BOM

Last year I kept saying I was going to play along with the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild block of the month, and I never did. This year I can’t get enough of it!

FebBOM-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

You probably remember last month I made the Inside Out Pineapple Block. And then waited patiently for the next months border! I guess since were doing a medallion quilt, BOM stands for Border of the MOnth!

FebBOM-Orange-ImFeelinCrafty

The new border only makes me more excited about it! I kept with the greens, but added a punch of orange! We have a committee that is making the borders up as we go. The February designer, Yeechi,  did a great job with the border and the instructions! You can always quilt along here!

FebBOM-End-ImFeelinCrafty

Now March is back on me to design! I think I have an idea of what to do!!! I can’t wait to share it! I’m thinking there might be some triangles!
