Fall Thyme Book Review, Printable and Giveaway

Yep, I’m back again with another installment from the ladies of Bittersweet Walnut Grove!! I showed you what we made from the Spring Thyme book Here, and the Summer Thyme fun here! And I loved them both, but….. I think this Fall Thyme one is my favorite!

FallThyme-Main-ImFeelinCrafty

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, but I don’t think that’s why this one is my favorite. I’m just in love with this one! As usual, there are a great mix of crafty projects, recipes and a some fun printables!

FallThyme-Napkins1-ImFeelinCrafty

One of the crafty projects I wanted to do was the Everlasting Leaves project, a project to preserve the beautiful fall leaves. I even went out in the cold and dark one night because I knew the rain was coming and I didn’t want wet leaves. I got a nice big bucket full! Then I spaced it and all the leaves curled and turned brown….

FallThyme-Napkins2-ImFeelinCrafty

Then one day my son was looking for a project to do! Ah, ha! So I sent him to my bucket to get the flattest leave she could find! While he was doing that, I was cutting out squares of fabric for the Fall Napkins project. We just happened to have fabric and fabric paint, so off he went painting and stamping!

FallThyme-Napkins3-ImFeelinCrafty

It was a perfect project for the kiddo! It took a few tries to get the right amount of paint, you need a lot, and the right amount of pressure on a stable table! We realized the kiddo’s table was a little wobbly. I’m in love with this project and want to keep on making more napkins! as I was taking pictures, I also realized that this project would make a fun bunting too!

And then there are the recipes! Getting this book now is perfect for your Thanksgiving baking and cooking! There are recipes for Gingersnaps, Zuchinni Bread, Pecan Tarts and more!

FallThyme-Cookies2-ImFeelinCrafty

My son and I love pumpkin muffins so I decided to try the pumpkin cookies!

FallThyme-Cookies3-ImFeelinCrafty

And of course, in this house we seem to add chocolate chips to most anything we bake. So we added them to these cookies and they are delicious! The only problem is that they are too good and my husband doesn’t love pumpkin anything and I’m eating them all! They are like eating little mini cakes. They are super fluffy and delicious! Kinda like Pringles, ‘once you pop, you can’t stop!’

If you were here, I’d offer you one on one of our new napkins!

Summer Thyme- a Book Review with a Free Printable!

Remember not too long back when I did the book review for the e-book, Spring Thyme? Here? Well,  the lovely ladies at Bittersweet Walnut Grove are at it again!

summer thyme-cover

Another very fun e-book! This one is, you guessed it, Summer Thyme! And like the last one, it’s full of recipes, craft projects and more family memories! The main difference is that the last one was all about strawberries and this one is all about lemons!

summer thyme-lemons-ImFeelinCrafty

I love reading about their family and growing up! Their childhood is so different from mine and I love reading about it. Like their stories of clothes drying on the line. We never did that! And it sounds like a lot of fun! You’ll have to read their funny stories!

summer thyme-dontlike-ImFeelinCrafty

Like I mentioned last time, the series of e-books brings the seasons to you through hands on experiences with the seasons bounty! And while we were connecting with the bright and cheery lemons that just look like summer, we found out that Max loves lemons in other things, but not on their own!

summer thyme-makinglemonade-ImFeelinCrafty

When I do reviews, I like to actually try what I’m reviewing. So, as hard as it was, we finally decided to try the lemonade shake ups, lemon pound cake and the lemon glaze. The kiddo and I had a great time making the lemonade and squeezing the fresh lemon juice out of the lemons!

summer thyme-lemonade-ImFeelinCrafty

We made it and let it chill in the fridge and, mmmmm, fresh lemon juice! And check out the adorable little butterfly straws! Yep, from the book! Not only is the book full of fantastic recipes, there are some great printables, too!

BWG_summerthyme_jartoppers

Speaking of printables, we have one to share with you! The jar lids are what I used for the lemonade tag and then I printed it at half size for the mini cupcake toppers (below). You can get your printable here!

And trust me, it’s not all food and drink recipes! There’s also a recipe for mosquito repellent. I SOOOO need to try that one. I need to gather the ingredients before we go camping next time! And, yes, I mentioned craft projects, too.  I love this lemon applique tea towel! It would be fantastic in my kitchen. Another one I need to try!

summer thyme-book-ImFeelinCrafty

Love the pound cake and the lemon glaze recipes! And turning them into mini cupcakes makes it even more enjoyable to sit back and enjoy the book!

You can get your copy, either the kindle edition or paperback, at Amazon. It’s great! Seriously! Such a fun summer read. The only thing is… You won’t want to just read it. You’re going to want to try the projects. So if you’re looking for a craft and recipe book that you only want to look at, this one isn’t for you. If you’re looking for one that you’ll want to try out right away… This is it!

Spring Thyme- a Book Review with a Free Printable!

Recently I was contacted by the lovely and sweet ladies at Bittersweet Walnut Grove! They have been awesome putting up with my scatter brained ways these last couple of months! See? I started to tell you why they contacted me and I have already gotten sidetracked….

IntroTheir wonderful e-book! That’s why they contacted me! I’m so lucky to get to review their wonderful e-book, Spring Thyme! It’s full of spring time recipes, craft projects and family memories!

Authors

The book is a family project between Mother and Daughters! It’s the family memories and  anecdotes from these beautiful ladies that make their series of books stand out from the rest of the craft books I’ve seen lately. The ladies intersperse tid-bits about growing up on the farm and I just wanted to run around with them in the fields and look out the window of the farmhouse next to them. They do a great job making you feel like you are a part of this creative and nurturing lifestyle that they are writing about!

The series of e-books that have written correspond with the changing seasons and are meant to connect you and the season thru the recipes and projects! A lot of the recipes are focused around strawberries and that’s perfect for this family who can go through a carton of strawberries like none other! All the recipes have gluten free options, as well.

StrawberryLemonade-I'mFeelinCrafty

I picked two recipes to try. Yes, both involve strawberries! With the first being the Strawberry Lemonade! Delicious! I don’t think I’ve ever made lemonade from scratch before! Not only is it really pretty, but it’s tasty too! And even better the day after you make it.

StrawberryDip-Bowl-I'mFeelinCrafty

And then we made the DELICIOUS Strawberry Fruit Dip! You could dip anything in this and it would be delicious! It’s super simple and the whole family LOVED it! I’m so glad to have this one. I wonderful new recipe to take to spring and summer potlucks!

StrawberryDip-kiddo-I'mFeelinCrafty

I just happened to try a couple of recipes, but the book is full of fun craft projects, like the Strawberry (yes, more strawberries) Sugar Scrub and the Garden Pots, printables, including the adorable pie boxes,  and sewing projects as well, like a really precious bunny doll and little baby chick applique pattern. Fun projects to keep or share! And they are all really easy and quick!

I really want to share all the projects with you, but I don’t want to give it all away either!

PrintableGift

And for you…. A lovely printable for bag toppers! The mini bag toppers coordinate with the Gratitude Gift Project series in the book! Click here for your free printable!

You can get your copy, either the kindle edition or paperback, at Amazon, or a paperback version at Barnes and Noble. It’s great! I’m tellin’ ya! Get you own today to see all the other projects I don’t have time to write about!
