Happy Easter!

I made a couple of quilted Easter decorations in time for Easter this year!

OK, full disclosure… I made them last year, but didn’t get them done in time for Easter! So technically, my first statement is true… LOL!

As soon as I saw this bunny banner pattern by Sugaridoo in Quiltnow Magazine Issue 60, I was super excited to make it! I just think this little bunny is adorable!

FYI- Quiltnow Magazine is not longer being published and they have taken down the website where this pattern was located. The pattern is not in the magazine. Sugaridoo doesn’t have this pattern on her website, but she does have a similar bunny that you could use for a bunny banner project!

So cute with the little chick on top! The pattern is a paper pieced pattern. I did not get very creative with this one, even the fabric colors are very similar to the one she made in the magazine. I really debated the quilting. I couldn’t decide what to do and was worried this diamond shape would take away from the bunny. In the end I think it turned out just right.

I didn’t piece the back on this one. I did add a sleeve, but didn’t use it in the photoshoot!

And you probably know that I love to just my scraps from a project in another project or a coordinating project right away. So I made Easter eggs! Scrappy, improv Easter eggs. I used this tutorial for my eggs, but instead of a circle, I made the egg shape.

And I used more scraps from the eggs to make the back!

A little invisible zipper action.

Three eggs and another chick from the original pattern, makes for a cute pillow, if I do say so myself!

I hope everyone has a great Easter weekend and hopefully you are able to get some sewing time in! I plan too. A little Easter Egg dying and sewing for my weekend.

Easter Crafting Over the Years

I had some fun Easter crafts planned for this year. We were going to do that this weekend. Then my son got invited to a sleep over and ditched me and my crafting!

EasterCrafts-ImFeelinCrafty

So I decided to take a walk down memory lane and reminence on the past Easter projects we’ve done together! That’s the one thing about the blog, projects get buried!

The first Easter project I made for the kiddo was the super easy Bunny BaRoo stuffy! He was pretty cute if I do say so myself!

Another early project was a beautiful yarn wreath by Hugs, Kisses and Snot. I just love the felt lilies! And you should check out her site, because she has another beautiful wreath posted recently!

I LOVED perler beads as a kid, so you know I am super excited that my kiddo loves them too. Even though he insists they are called Fuse Beads… One year we made Easter cards with Perler Beads Easter decorations!

And last year we used toilet paper rolls to stamp Easter egg placemats! These I made a no sew project, but you can stamp on anything!

I’m still going to get some Easter crafting on with the kiddo before the big day comes though… Have you made any Easter crafts this year?

Beaded Bookmarks!

We seem to be having a hard time keeping up with bookmarks. And we seem to be reading at least one chapter book at a time. Which means, I’m constantly trying to remember where we left off….

BeadedBookMarks-Main-I'mFeelin'Crafty

So when I saw these adorable bunny bookmarks by Small for Big, I was so excited to make them! Have you seen this? The project has been featured all over the blog world! It’s just so adorable!

BeadedBookMarks-SmallForBig

I wanted to try making them out of pom poms, since I knew for sure we had different sized pom poms around this house somewhere… The key word in that sentence is somewhere… I couldn’t find them anywhere… So we used the beads that we have at the house. I loved the wood colored originals, but we had colored beads and I think they turned out nicely.

I showed my son the picture of what we were making and proceeded to pick every shape we had, except the circles, for the bunnies! Then he decided that, no, no bunny for him. He was making a little square-headed kid! OK! Well, I stuck to the directions and made a bunny!

I had grand expectations of this project. We were going to make a BUNCH of these for Easter gifts. Then the kiddo left me. Alone. Beading my bookmark. I didn’t have the needle the directions described and our yarn kept separating, so I had to keep adding tape to the end of the yarn in order to bead the beads. So, it was a little slow going and the kiddo lost interest.

He’s so excited to have his bookmark in our book tonight!

Now I have to find something to read to use mine in!

Hippity Hoppity Here Comes Another Friday Link Love

oh yeah…. I guess it really goes, Hippity Hoppity here comes the EASTER bunny!! Yep, You can tell it’s spring and Easter is on it’s way all over the blogosphere! Eggs and bunnies are everywhere! Here’s a few that I’ve fallen in love with so far, and April only started today…

1. Yep, I said the eggs and bunnies are everywhere. But don’t forget the Easter owl from My Owl Barn and Jinjerup! I”m totally in love with how adorable and well though out this easter owl gift box/bag is. And I sooo need a new bookmark, so I’m going to download some of those as well!

2. Love the fabric eggs from Retro Mama! Wouldn’t these make great keepsake decorations to pull out year after year???

3. And I feel the same about these fabric eggs as I do about the others… But these have a little surprise inside! These are super special secret pocket eggs from Sew, Mama, Sew.

4. Typically I’m not a huge fan of paint chip crafts… I love the paint chip commercials where everything is a paint chip, but typically I don’t feel the same way about the paint chip craft projects I’ve seen. But I’m making an exception with this project, the paint chip egg garland from Modern Parents Messy Kids. The paint chips are perfect for this!!!

5. These cupcakes decorations by One Charming Party just brought a smile to my face as soon as I saw them! She has the ears all ready for downloading.

If only I had more time to craft and sew this month… I’m supposed to be studying for my last exam… Gotta get it done before I go insane. (sorry, I just had to vent there for s second!)

And stayed tuned…. I’ve got a great giveaway coming soon. I can’t wait to share it!
