Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m hoping everyone (even you non-Americans who might not be celebrating Thanksgiving) has a wonderful day tomorrow! It’s a wonderful day for everyone to take a break and remember what we are thankful for!

There aren’t a lot of Thanksgiving activities on the blog, but I thought I’d remind of ones you might have missed!

Just recently I posted about how to make the silliest Rice Crispy Treat Turkeys!

In need of a last minute printable for your Thanksgiving decorations? Be sure to print out the subway art-like printable courtesy of the ladies at Bittersweet Walnut Grove.

I’ve always loved the Thankful cards that I shared designed by the lovely My Little Buffalo!

What about a fun activity for the kid’s table? We had fun making the Cone Salad Spinner Art Turkeys!

Have a wonderful day!

Rice Crispy Turkeys

We like to make turkeys out of food around here! First (and my favorite) we made the Salad Spinner Turkeys….

And now we made them out of Rice Crispy Treats!

These are a silly little project we did! I kinda laugh every time I look at them, actually! I had the idea, but in my head they weren’t quite so silly looking! But I think the silly works for a rice crispy turkey, huh?

You need rice crispy treats, red tic tacs, chocolate chips and candy corn!

They are super simple to make! A bit sticky, but easy. Make a rice crispy ball and then stick the candy corn tail feathers in. I had to keep squeezing the ball while I inserted the candy corn, just to help keep the tail feathers in tight.

Now make a smaller ball and add the chocolate chips and the red tic tac beak.

Then put them together! You do have to kinda squeeze and squish the two together keeping the round shape. Or, in hindsight, I would probably add a toothpick to hold the head on the body. It works without, too!

And I hate to say it, but… These silly little guys taste good too! Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving craft?

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! And if your not in the US, well, I hope you have an extra wonderful day with your family. Let’s all take a moment to say thanks for everything that is special to us!

My son and I have been talking about the fact that not everyone has a lot of the things that we’re so lucky to have, like a roof over our heads at night and heat and a loving family. I’m thankful for this holiday to help me slow down and really think about all these things! Life can get so hectic that we forget how lucky we are sometimes!

I should design a new ‘I’m thankful For ‘printable, but I just love this one from a couple of years back….

Have a great weekend! And I’ll see ya soon! Thank you so much for reading! I’m very thankful for my blog and the inspiration yall give me to keep going!

Thank you,

Salad Spinner Turkeys Tutorial at MAM!

Please join me on the MAM blog today! I’m sharing a super fun and silly project that’s great to do today or even with the whole family while you’re waiting on the real turkey to cook on Thursday!

You can try to make just one… But once the salad spinner is out… Good luck with just one!

I’ll bet you’ll end up with a ‘rafter‘ (a little Turkey Day trivia for ya) of turkeys! Make as many as you want for your Thanksgiving table! How many will you make???

Happy Thanksgiving!

If you’re here in America, enjoy the holiday!

And if you’re not in America, you can play along!

It’s so funny, I went a little overboard on the Thanksgiving themed books from the library this year and my son is so BORED with all the Thanksgiving books. But I keep reading them, because I am convinced that I am going to find one that talks about why we celebrate Thanksgiving and not just about the food we eat. I mean it is about giving thanks for our food, but there is a little bit more to the story! We found a few, but most of them just talk about eating…

And we will eat! While we think about everything we have to be thankful for.

And my son will be thankful that all these Thanksgiving books can go back to the library!

Sorry, I missed posting earlier this week! The family was sick this weekend, all of us, and this week I feel like I’ve been playing catch up. So I’m thankful that we’re feeling better! More next week!!
